Safety and Hunting Blinds

July 13, 2011 by admin

While hunting, ensuring your safety is imperative. Hunting blinds, while they can conceal your whereabouts from potential prey, can also be dangerous if not used properly. You need to make sure that any other hunters in the area know where your hunting blind is. You should also carefully read the set-up instructions, to be sure that the hunting blind will stay set up while you’re using it. Having it crash down on your head while you’re hunting can severely injure you. In rare cases, faulty or badly set up hunting blinds could cause the gun to go off, which is an extreme hazard and could even mean death. There are warning labels on most hunting blinds about making sure that they are set up properly before using them. Do not ignore these warning labels, or you may end up in the hospital or morgue. If you have built your own hunting blind, test it several times to make sure it is sturdy before taking it hunting.
